From our colleagues in the ASCE Met Section...
The ASCE MET Section Geo-Institute invites you to join us for the 49th Annual Met Section Geotechnical Seminar. This seminar will focus on covering a broad range of geotechnical engineering design and construction projects in the NYC Metropolitan area and other dense urban environments where with limited space, complex jobs are set against existing structures. Met Section website seminar will present cases such as:
1) Geotechnical challenges dealing with neighboring buildings, historic landmarks, subway tunnels, bridges, utility lines, sewers, or community boards
2) Geotechnical complexities in confined environments
3) Alternative approaches to foundation or support of excavation design
4) Rigorous monitoring of historical or critical infrastructure 5) Computational modeling of complex soil-structure interactions that require geotechnical engineers to become creative in their design and approach.
Please see the Met Section calendar for more details on this seminar, including sponsorship opportunities.
