In recognition of Global Ethics Day, please join CSCE at a virtual lunch meeting on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. At this meeting, Frederick E. Hedberg, Partner at Robinson+Cole, will give a presentation on Engineers, Ethics and the Law. This presentation will examine how ethics and the law has shaped the engineering profession. You will learn tips and pitfalls to avoid to ensure compliance with different ethical codes and laws in the practice of engineering. You will learn the do’s and don’ts of serving as an expert witness without running afoul of ethics and the law, and the potential consequences if you do. Recent legal decisions will be reviewed and analyzed in order for you to understand how courts interpret and apply laws to your profession.

Frederick E. Hedberg is a member of the Construction Law Group at Robinson+Cole, with more than 20 years of experience handling complex construction and commercial matters for his clients, both as a transactional attorney and as an experienced litigator. In addition to his legal experience, prior to becoming an attorney, Fred practiced as a licensed civil and structural engineer for over 10 years, thereby gaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all phases of a construction project.
