This webinar is sponsored by the CT Chapter of the Transportation & Development Institute and will cover shifting policy goals, community engagement, Safe Routes to School programs, and transportation culture. The Active Transportation Unit recently kicked off a 2-year update to the Statewide Active Transportation Plan, a document that will include department wide tools aimed at consistent and streamlined complete streets design decisions. The presentation will address current and past projects as well as a proposed trail inventory, existing conditions, and gap analysis.
Paul Ashworth is a transportation planning professional with the majority of his experience working with municipalities and communities to find transportation and land use solutions that best serve the public while allowing for economic success. Paul has spent his career advocating for transportation equity and better outcomes from public processes. He is an avid cyclist who has recently completed bicycle tours in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut and has a Bachelors Degree in sociology from the University of Central Florida and a Masters of Science in Urban & Regional Planning also from the University of Central Florida.
